Always Have a Pre-Swing Routine

All professional golfers know the value of a pre-swing routine, just watch the variety of routines in any professional tournament. In every golf lesson I have ever taken throughout the years, the golf-instructor strongly suggests that we develop one. My pre-swing routine includes gently checking my grip, placing the ball on the tee in a certain way, holding my club out in front of my face while I visualize my shot, and then taking a perfect practice swing.
You will also find a pre-swing routine is valuable to set the stage for successful ease and flow in any project you are undertaking as a woman in business. Here are a few suggestions for how you can transition your pre-swing routine from the golf course to your business:
Establish a schedule of going to bed and waking up in the morning at the same time each day.
Begin your day with positive affirmations, exercise, stretching, and/or healthy eating.
Develop a small ritual every time you begin a project – especially those you have a tendency to procrastinate on; Gather your pens, get your paper ready, put on some music and visualize what you want to create. Then stretch your shoulders, take some cleansing breaths and begin.
When facing an uncomfortable conversation, write out your script and practice it. Visualize having a successful conversation and feeling good about the results. Then, take nice breaths before you begin speaking.
Begin each day with a journaling workshop with yourself. Write down everything you want to attract into your life, as if you already are enjoying it.
Use these suggestions to create your own pre-swing routine – it really does help set the stage for focus, creativity, and success in your business.
Fore your big success!
